My work explores the intersection of art and design. I have curated exhibitions in both Istanbul and Rome and presented my work at exhibitions in Istanbul, Belgium, and Rome. Additionally, I have led art and design workshops in Rome and Istanbul. From 1992 to 2019, I served as a tenured professor in the Interior Architecture Department at the Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts in Istanbul, where I chaired the department from 2012 to 2019. Currently, I live in Rome, teaching at the Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA) and Sapienza University.
Istanbul and Rome—two cities to which I have deep personal and professional connections—have long reflected and influenced one another. Positioned at the crossroads of East and West, these contrasting cultures have provided me with a rich and unique experience. Both have deeply shaped my hybrid approach to design. My work spans wearable objects, biomaterials research, as well as furniture and exhibition design.
